The Sivananda Advanced Teacher Training Course (ATTC) has been designed to allow graduates of the Sivananda basic teacher training to deepen their understanding of yogic principles and strengthen their practice.
During this intensive month, you will experience an inner transformation through the purifying power of yoga.

Our advanced hatha yoga teacher training is designed as a deepening journey for yoga teachers, allowing them to develop a more subtle understanding of yogic principles and strengthen their spiritual practice.
During this intensive month, you will experience the transformative and purifying power of a complete yogic practice.
This unique programme helps you dive deeper into the path of meditation, focusing on the most subtle aspects of yoga.
You will explore the four paths of yoga at an advanced level: Karma, Bhakti, Raja, and Jnana Yoga.
The training includes in-depth study of Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras), Vedanta philosophy, Sanskrit, and a finer understanding of subtle anatomy.
Each day is structured around advanced pranayama practice, morning meditations, asana practices, in-depth lectures, and organic vegetarian meals. There is one day of rest per week.

This course takes place under the spiritual direction of Swami Durgananda, Swami Sivadasananda and Swami Kailasananda. They are Yoga Acharyas (spiritual teachers) and long-time disciples of Swami Vishnudevananda. Other experienced teachers and swamis from the Sivananda Yoga Centres complete the teaching team.
The teachers of this training have fully dedicated their lives to sadhana (spiritual practice) and live full-time at the ashram. Through their commitment to a yogic lifestyle, they have rich personal experience and vast knowledge based on their own deep experience. They teach, study and practice hatha yoga throughout the year, with between 8 and 40 years of teaching experience and continuous yoga practice.

Swami Durgananda
Yoga Acharya | Spiritual direction
Yoga Acharya, Swami Durgananda is one of the oldest disciples of Swami Vishnudevananda. She is also director of the European Sivananda Yoga Centres. Her practical and intuitive teaching style is the result of intense practice and over 40 years of teaching experience. She is the author of the books Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and The Inner Way.

Swami Sivadasananda
Yoga Acharya | Spiritual direction
Yoga Acharya, Swami Sivadasananda is a long-time student of Swami Vishnudevananda. He has been teaching in Sivananda yoga workshops and training courses around the world for many years. Swami Sivadasananda is a dynamic, precise and experienced teacher. He is the author of the books Sivananda Beginner’s Guide to Yoga and Yoga Mind & Body.

Swami Kailasananda
Director | Spiritual direction and Vedanta philosophy
Yoga Acharya and director of the Sivananda Yoga Ashram and the Sivananda Centres in France and England, Swami Kailasananda is a long-time disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda. Trained in Sanskrit at the Sorbonne, she has been teaching in Sivananda yoga training courses around the world for 35 years. In the ATTC, she guides students in the in-depth exploration of Vedanta and yogic philosophy. Author of “The Yoga of Meditation”, she transmits the most subtle teachings with clarity, depth and particular attention for each student.

Swami Bhagavatananda
Co-director | Vedanta and yogic philosophy
Long-time disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda and co-director of the ashram, Swami Bhagavatananda has been teaching in advanced training courses in France, India and Eastern Europe for 25 years. Specialist in vegetarianism and Ayurvedic nutrition, she accompanies students in their philosophical deepening with kindness and wisdom, always listening and offering good advice.

Gopala
Raja Yoga and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras
Gopala has been teaching in Sivananda Centres since 1986 and in training courses for over 20 years. After directing the centres in Paris, Montreal, Los Angeles, Delhi and Geneva, he puts his profound knowledge of Raja Yoga and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras at the service of advanced students. He makes Patanjali’s profound wisdom accessible with concrete examples, clarity and a good dose of humour.

Saraswati Chaitanya
Advanced pranayama and anatomy
Experienced yoga teacher, Saraswati teaches with rigour and precision. Specialist in anatomy and advanced pranayama, she guides students in exploring subtle breathing techniques and their profound effects on the energetic system. She excels in the art of transmitting the finest aspects of practice with clarity and expertise.

Ganapati Chaitanya
Asanas
After serving at the Sivananda Centres in Paris and London, Ganapati joined the teaching team at the Orléans ashram. Devoted and disciplined practitioner, he teaches advanced asanas with humility and generosity. His approach emphasizes deep and meditative understanding of postures: exploring subtleties, refining alignments, progressing consciously without forcing.

Narayana Chaitanya
Advanced asanas and anatomy
Experienced yoga teacher, Narayana contributes to the training through his love of all aspects of yoga. Very precise in alignments and the breakdown of postures, he teaches with high standards and rigour. His comprehensive knowledge of yoga allows him to teach anatomy as well as asanas, always with a balanced and positive nature. Dynamic, precise and caring, he teaches asanas in the ATTC, as well as advanced anatomy.

Sanskrit
A Sanskrit expert from the international Sivananda network joins the team to teach the sacred language of yoga. This study of Sanskrit allows you to understand the profound meaning of yogic terms, improve your pronunciation of mantras and connect more deeply to the tradition.

The training is given in English. Simultaneous translation is offered in French and Spanish according to needs.
