Cultivate the earth, nourish the soul
At the Sivananda Yoga Ashram, yoga and permaculture meet in a common approach: cultivating harmony with the living world.
Since 2018, we have been developing an agro-ecological farm inspired by the Ferme du Bec Hellouin, where every gardening gesture becomes a practice of respect and connection with nature.
Permaculture is the art of creating productive and resilient ecosystems inspired by natural models. Rather than fighting against nature, we work with it: naturally enriching soils, promoting biodiversity, conserving water, creating synergies between plants.
This approach resonates deeply with yogic principles of non-violence (ahimsa), respect for living beings and sattvic food – pure and alive.
Our farm produces organic vegetables and fruits full of prana (vital energy) that nourish the ashram community, while serving as a refuge for biodiversity and a place for knowledge transmission.
